COTA - gone Green!
You’re in for a treat with the new COTA “going green” public transportation buses. Headed to the job or the Columbus Zoo, COTA has a way to get you through central Ohio and will help you save the planet too. In early spring 2010, COTA unveiled its newly fuel efficient buses. COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) is doing their part in reducing their carbon footprint by adding features like: “48 percent increase in fuel efficiency, a battery-powered electric motor and diesel-fueled combustion engine, regenerative brakes that repower the motor battery when pressed, an LED lighting system used inside and outside the vehicle and a smoother ride because the electric motors do not require shifting”.
The fabric seating is both comfortable and spacious. It is best to sit in the seating directly behind the driver or seating facing each other by the front entrance of the bus for optimal seating. However, be mindful that prime seating choices may not be available to you due to the time of day, number of people on a bus and availability of the eco-friendly buses in rotation (there are only six currently).
